I was never really good at understanding the elements and principles but I do know what you mean by value. I could have added darker colors to the background but I don't like using colored pencils a lot

this is cute, i hope you don't mind if i give you some advice, but i think you should start trying to add more value (if you know what i mean) because than your picture will seem more alive than just one value thought out the whole picture :) you try a bit of value because i do see some darks but it would be great to see more :) (i said like my art teacher) but keep drawing! ♥
